Our Story
Since opening our doors in 2020, Otways Meat and Game has become a valued part of the local community. We started our business after realizing how difficult it was to find the high-quality, fresh, local venison.

Through dedication and hard work, we’ve built strong relationships with our incredible customers. Step into our busy butchery and experience the true taste of exceptional venison.
We’ve transformed our own backyard into a local, ethical, and sustainable source of premium wild venison, bringing the best of Kent and Sussex from field to fork. With a 5-star Food Hygiene Rating, we proudly produce a full nose-to-tail range of cuts from prime animals.

Sustainability
Large herds of fallow deer can cause significant damage to arable land, grasslands, and fruit estates. While deer population management is sometimes seen as controversial, when done responsibly, it improves herd health and maintains a balanced ecosystem in line with landowners' conservation goals.

All culling is led by myself, with the support of our professional in-house team. The venison is carefully aged in our chillers for about a week (depending on the animal’s age) before my husband, Thomas, butchers it into a full range of cuts.

What once started as trading venison with family and friends for bottles of wine has now grown into a thriving business, supplying pubs, restaurants, estate farm shops and private clients with premium, ethically sourced wild venison.

Thomas and I are passionate about showcasing the region’s finest produce and bringing outstanding venison to Kent and Sussex.
